Ensure you have the skills and knowledge to make your new business a success with the Entrepreneurship & Innovation course. You will learn how to evaluate and pursue your business ideas and gain the ability to think like an entrepreneur and innovate how to approach your business.

Through this course, you will be able to identify business opportunities, take steps to bring them to fruition, and put together a strong business plan to strike the right deals.

Digital Marketing and Website Development

As more of how your business is promoted moves online, such as online ads and e-commerce, it is imperative to become more knowledgeable about digital marketing. With this course, you will gain insights on how to grow your business through digital marketing. It all starts with a lead-generating website. Then, you will learn about creating effective content platforms, boosting your business through Search Engine Optimization and standing out with social media engagement. Other aspects of digital marketing covered in this course include reputation management, email marketing, and Paid Online Advertising (PPC), so you can learn how to use these online tools to your advantage.

Marketing Strategy

When it comes to business, everything starts with strategy, including your marketing. Without a marketing strategy, you could be investing in ineffective tactics and attracting the wrong customers. This marketing strategy course focuses on how businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), navigate marketing to attract and retain the right customers that will help their business grow. The course will provide hands-on, easy-to-follow marketing strategy ideas. The course focuses on:

  • Understanding who your customer is, and how to attract and retain those customers
  • How to develop a strategic marketing plan
  • How to create a retail marketing strategy
  • Integrated marketing communications for SME's strategic growth tools, such as:
    • Boston Consulting Group (BCG) growth matrix
    • Ansoff matrix
    • Competitor analysis/generic strategy

Bookkeeping and Taxation for Small Business

Bookkeeping is the backbone of any business, providing a reliable measurement of your performance. When you complete this course, you will be able to record and maintain business transactions while complying with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You will also learn how to efficiently use accounting software to keep track of your business records and simplify reporting. With the Bookkeeping and Taxation for Small Businesses course, you will be able to maximize your business’ income and cash flow through basic personal and corporate taxation principles.

Canadian Investment Funds (Mutual Funds)

Gain the skills and certifications to become a financial advisor. 

The Canadian Investment Funds Course Exam offered by Burman University meets the provincial Securities Commission’s requirements for you to earn your mutual fund license. This course provides foundational knowledge that prepares you to give your clients effective advice on mutual fund investments. It also provides insight into your legal, ethical and professional responsibilities as a mutual fund representative. Completing this course will help you meet regulatory requirements to register as a Mutual Fund Dealer.

This course is offered on the IFSE platform at a reduced cost and is IFSE Certified.

Each course that you enroll in is $300. Post-secondary and grade 12 students receive a discount, so each course is only $200 to enroll.
